Ex-husband Charged with Murdering Graves Woman
By Joe Jackson
WINGO, KY - A Tennessee man is charged with murdering a Graves County woman. According to Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, 54-year-old Robert McConahie of Nashville is charged with killing 52-year-old Wendy Cook of Wingo on Dec. 31.

Deputies arrested McConahie in Nashville early Thursday morning. Redmon said McConahie is Cook’s ex-husband, and they had been having problems since their divorce several years ago. Redmon said Cook had an emergency protective order against McConahie but it had been dropped.
McConahie allegedly came to Cook’s home on New Year’s Eve night around 9 o'clock, entered the home and strangled her to death. Redmon said it wasn’t clear how McConahie gained access inside her home. Cook's two young grandchildren were found New Year's Day morning unharmed inside her home. Deputies believe the children were asleep in bed when the crime occurred.

After questioning McConahie, deputies charged him with murder. He’s currently jailed at the Davidson County Jail in Nashville. A hearing is scheduled in Davidson County Criminal Court on Monday. If McConahie waives extradition, Redmon said deputies will pick him up in Nashville immediately.
