Julia Mae Snapp Phillips, age 64 of Tazewell, VA died Friday, May 13, 2016 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, VA. Born March 18, 1952 at Tazewell, VA, she was a daughter of Helen Brown Snapp of Burke’s Garden, VA and the late Dulaney Snapp. Julia was a 1970 graduate of Tazewell High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a wonderful seamstress, fantastic piano player, having taught many family members to play. She also loved fishing and camping, but her greatest love was her love of God and her family, Brian, Stephoney, and Maddi.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Brian Phillips and wife, Stephoney of Thompson Valley in Tazewell, VA; one sister, Ernestine “Pete” Acord and husband, Wayne of Burke’s Garden, VA; three brothers, Frank Snapp, Stephen “Bo” Snapp and wife, Lynn, and Tim Snapp all of Burke’s Garden, VA; one granddaughter, Maddi Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA with Pastors Bill Brown and Jason Snapp officiating. Burial will follow at the Burke’s Garden Central Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
