JACKSONVILLE, FL - Mrs. Mary Rita (Guy) Lucero, age 91, died peacefully at her home on Hawaii Drive South Wednesday morning, May 11. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilfredo (Fred) P. Lucero.

Mary was born in Brooklawn, NJ, on December 25, 1924, the daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth (Leary) Guy, and was raised in Gloucester City, NJ.

She worked as an overseas operator with AT&T for 27 years before her retirement in 1993.

As a U.S. Navy family, she and her husband lived in Virginia, California, and Rhode Island, before settling in Jacksonville in 1959. The Lucero family were among the first 5 familes to move into the Sandalwood subdivsion in 1960.

She was predeceased by her brothers, John, William, David, and James. She is survived by one brother, Richard (Natalie) Guy; her children - Paul (Shelley) Arcusa, Robert (Linda) Arcusa, Annette Lucero and Howie (Jackie) Lucero; her grandchildren - Brent Arcusa, Tara Arcusa, Darrell Cleveland, and Monica Lucero; her great-grandchildren - Isabel Arcusa, Sophie Arcusa, Layla Arcusa, and Anthony Cleveland; and the extended Lucero, Arcusa and Guy families.

Mary will be lovingly remembered for her welcoming smile and generous heart.
