NORMAN KENNETH ALEXANDER Norman Kenneth Alexander, 75, a former resident of Petal, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. He had been a member of the University Assembly of God Church in Hattiesburg. He served in the United States Navy, Word War II and Korea. He was retired from Greyhound Corp. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Shriner Hamasa Temple in Meridian. He was a graduate of Vidalia High School in Vidalia, La. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Howard and Flora Jane Alexander; a brother, Billy Miles Alexander; and a sister, Verna Marjorie Alexander Roberts. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Randall Alexander (wife, Debra) of Mountain View, Ark. and Norman Kenneth Alexander II (wife, Lisa) of Lafayette, La; one daughter, Norma Kay (husband, Barry) Hand of Sulphur, La.; one brother, Harold T. Alexander (wife, Jeanette) of Wesson; two sisters, Lois Alexander of Lafayette and Peggy Stewart of Laurel; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and special friend, Burrell Jones, of Ellisville. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral at 11:30 a.m at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan McCord will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jones County. Pallbearers will be Irvin Stewart, Howard Alexander, Paul K. Roberts, Davie Gupstid, Burrell Jones and William (Boots) Hawkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity. Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Laurel, is in charge of arrangements.
