Mattie Alice Buchanan Capps, age 91, of Sanford, N.C., died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Tara Plantation in Carthage.
She was born in Lee County, N.C. on January 12, 1924, to the late Lennie Neil Buchanan and Alice Ida Jones Buchanan. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Taylor McCrae Capps; son, Robert Lynn Capps and siblings Bennie Buchanan, Lloyd Buchanan and Maggielee Poindexter. Mrs. Capps was an old-time Pentecostal who believed in one God, one Faith, and one Baptism. She attended Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Lemon Springs.
