Carl W. Erickson “Swede”, age 84 of Burnsville, MN. Born June 6, 1931, has passed away with loved ones with him on Sunday, May 8th, 2016. A Minnesota boy who grew up in Grand Rapids, MN. Swede served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After returning home he attended the University of Minnesota and studied engineering and then operated a successful utility construction business in the Twin Cities area called CECA Utilities, Inc. During his retirement he enjoyed working on his gardens and waterfalls on Lake Alimagnate in Burnsville and spending their winters in Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hedvig “Hedy” and Carl L. Erickson; sisters, Carol McNamee and Fern Olson. He is survived by his wife, Carol Cleven Erickson; children, Ross (Brenda) Erickson, Gayle Erickson (Tony) Ash Denver, CO., Grant (Renee) Erickson; step children, Lori Kay (Richard) Huckle, Ross ( Connie) Engelking, Mark (Dawn) Engelking; brother Don (Colleen) Erickson, Burnsville; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Funeral service 11 AM Thursday, May 19th at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Avenue, Burnsville, MN 55337 (952-894-5080) with a visitation 2 hours prior to service. Interment at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens, Burnsville. The family is grateful for all the loving care from Fairview Hospice. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
