Jason H. Robinson was lifted up into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.

Jason was born on September 6, 1974 in Hampton, VA, the first child and only son of Helen P. (Robinson) Wilkerson and Louis Robinson, Jr. He graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1992 where he graduated with highest honors. He was a National Merit Achievement Scholarship recipient and was also awarded an Academic Scholarship to the University of Virginia, where he graduated in 1996 with a degree in Biology. Jason obtained a position as a graduate assistant in football at the University of Memphis where he was awarded a Master's Degree in Curriculum / Instruction.

Medicine was Jason's chosen career when he was growing up, but he discovered football in high school and it became his passion. During his summers in high school, he worked for Hampton Parks and Recreation with the summer playground program and he discovered his love of working with young people. The seed was planted! Teaching and coaching football became his career.

Jason accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in Hampton. He used his beautiful singing voice in the choir and he served wherever he was needed. A few years ago he was invited to attend a service at Liberty Baptist Church by his good friend "Clem", he became a member and attended faithfully.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. C. Thomas Paige. Left to cherish his memory: his daughter (and his heart), Paige McKenzie Robinson, his mother, Helen P. Wilkerson, his father, Louis Robinson, Jr. (Charmaine), and his sisters, Janna H. Robinson and Ashley P. Gay. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Blanche Griffin, his ex-wife, Heather Robinson (Doyle), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Jason's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 12, at Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
