Henry Coleman Bramlett, son of Rebecca Jane Hanley and Thomas Brown Bramlett, died a suicide by drowning in the Mississippi River. He was distraught over the family's move from Illinois to Missouri. Meeks Haley Bramlet in his 1924 history "A Pioneer Family - Bramlet" states that Henry was buried in Bramlet Cemetery. There are some graves in the middle of the cemetery under cedars with fieldstone markers but no inscriptions. Henry married a cousin, Mary Matilda Miner, daughter of Susan Brown and Montgomery Miner. Henry Coleman and Mary Matilda had three children born in Illinois: Tiny Jane, Matthew Montgomery and James Thomas Bramlett. Tiny Jane may also be buried in an unmarked grave in Bramlet Cemetery. After Henry Coleman died, Mary Matilda continued on to Missouri with her two surviving children and inlaws. She died in Missouri. She is buried beside her third husband, Andrew Jackson Freeman, in Freeman Cemetery near Fremont, Carter Co., Mo.
