Services for Jerry Wallace Montgomery, age 87, of Chatsworth, Georgia, and formerly of Cookeville, Tennessee will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016 in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the West Cemetery.
Mr. Montgomery passed from life on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Georgia surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on July 31, 1928 near Lakeland, Florida to the late Jesse Layette Montgomery and
Martha 'Mae' Carmichael Montgomery.

Jerry was a free spirited and caring man. He loved being outdoors tending to his yard work. He loved to travel, sight-see and take in nature`s beauty. Jerry also had a great passion for history and was very interested in Civil War history. He enjoyed Nascar and was keenly passionionate about guns. Jerry was a proud owner of a restored 1972 Ford Mustang. He loved taking the opportunity to enjoy his car every chance he had.
Jerry spent many years working as an engineer and held various positions within Twin Lakes Telephone Company, Highland Telephone Cooperative, Continental Carrier (CXR) Services, Tele Services, Inc. Jerry retired from Contel Telephone Company and returned to work as a sub-contractor for GTE and retired again after three years of service.

Jerry is survived by his beloved, devoted wife, Wilma Bowles Pruitt Montgomery, three sons; Jerry Michael (wife Linda) Montgomery, Robert (wife Ala) Montgomery and
Gary (former wife Gina Ward) Montgomery. three step children; Cindy (Richard) Fillion, Jonathan (Gina) Pruitt, and
David Kelly (Cindy) Pruitt.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.
He is also preceded in death by one brother,
Jesse Nicholas (Jay) Montgomery, (134427720)
sister, Bobbie Bemus and mother-in-law; Thelma Parsons Bowles.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Bro. Hiller Duke will officiate the service.
