Randy Silas Heath was born to Howard Carter Heath and Ruth Leverne Seeley Heath on April 28 1949 in Bloomington In.
Randy grew up in the small town of Harrodsburg Where he attended elementary school and Jr. High at the Old Harrodsburg School, then to Smithville High School. He was in choir and plays growing up. He liked creating skits and designing the costumes.
His greatest passion was ART.
He graduated from Valencia Jr. college in Orlando Fla. Then going on to University of Southern Florida for his BA, later to IU for his Masters, in Art of course.
Education was always very important to him and he wanted his nephew’s and nieces to further their education. After graduating Randy and his cousin Dan traveled to Europe and they had stories..Randy loved to travel always meet people and made friends along the way.
Randy was a member of the Church of Christ at Harrodsburg for about 50 yrs. Where for some years he would address the congregation and lead songs.
Randy taught in Lawrence County at Heltonville Fayettville, Dollins, Oolttic, Staker, and Parkview schools in his years as a traveling teacher. He truly loved teaching the children. He wanted each child to learn to express themselves though all forms of art, film, cloth, clay metal and paint. He taught how important Art is in our every day lives.
Randy or Silas as many knew him owned many floral and gift shops , another passion. To create a vinette that told a story and made you want to buy everything displayed. His mind was always working to create something from a seemingly useless item, even days before he passed.
As his arthritis worsened he created and altered books and pictures, also the most beautiful greeting cards.
Randy loved Paris and wanted to go back there. Finding all things French most beautiful. He enjoyed the slow and beautiful ways of the south and the southern styles. We planned a theme Birthday for him but he became to ill to come. " Id rather be in Paris"
Randy Loved to see ladies in hats so if someone feels like wearing one to viewing or services please do so, or a French Knot.

Randy loved his nieces and nephews beyond measure and the great ones as well Ashton Brooke Duff, Chevelle Knight Gracie Long, Calli Pope,Jameson Pope. Colton and Conner Pope , Gavin, Brayden Robinson, Zayne Dwigans.His love for family was great alto health issues kept him from always participating.
He was my confidante, the one whom told me when I was out of line. Randy never meet a stranger love talking and deep discussion. He has gone to be with his parents and grandparents and niece Yvonne whom he enjoyed taking places as a child.
Randy is survived by sisters Sally (Ernie) Livingston, Melody (Rick) Pope,Nephews Jason(Robin) Pope, Mathew (Tiffanie) Pope, Cody ( Shelli) Pope, Carrie (Tony) Knight, Tonya(Phillip) Long, Cousins Dan & Amy Glover, John & Amy Love, Larry& (Janie) Heath Great Uncle Robert Carter. Childhood friends Marsha , Connie, Wilda. And his precious grey cat Mademoiselle. Many friends and family.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday May 13, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday May 14, 2016 at CloverHill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
