Marshall was born and raised, and lived all of his life in Pikeville. He was a life-long farmer.
He raised many cattle and vegetables during his lifetime. Marshall served as a deacon at Morgan Springs Baptist Church.
Preceding Marshall in death was his wife, Margaret Swafford; six siblings; daughter-in-law, Clara Swafford.
Left to cherish Marshall’s memories are his sons, Hershel (Deena) Swafford, Herbert Swafford, Marshall Swafford, Jr., Wayne (Cathy) Swafford, Willard (Julia) Swafford;; Grandchildren, Lloyd (Diane) Swafford, Mark Swafford, Marty Swafford, Jeremy (Dara) Swafford, Eric (Cheyenne) Swafford, Todd (Wendy) Swafford, Gregg (Kate) Swafford, Stacy Swafford; Shannon Swafford and Gina (Mike) Richey, Sonja (David) Labrecque, nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Juanita and Darlene; and a very special person in Marshall’s life, Bill Hixson; too many friends to count.
A Celebration of Marshall’s life will be 2:00 CDT Sunday, May 15, in the funeral home chapel with Min. Doyle Ashburn and Min. Anthony Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Summer City Cemetery.
