Born Sept. 14, 1886, to Henry D. and Ann (Beal) Beisel, he was married Dec. 23, 1908, to Edith Gochenour. He attended Rossville high school and Purdue university.
A farmer and breeder of Polled Milking Shorthorn cattle, he was a long-time director of the American Shorthorn Breeders Ass'n. and was insturmental in the organization of the Indiana Milking Shorthorn association, of which he was president for two years.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian church and was active in the church during his entire life, having taught in Sunday school for over 40 years, and also served as an elder and trustee. He was commissioner to the General Assembly from Crawfordsville Presbytery in 1951. He was a charter member of the Owen township Farm Bureau and a director of the local Credit Union.
Survivors include one son, Emmett, of Frankfort route 7; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Chittick of Frankfort; two grandchildren; two brothers, Bertice of California and Ervin N., Helena, Ark., and three sisters, Mrs. Inez Lutes, Indianapolis, Mrs. L. W. Dorsey, Frankfort route 7, and Bessie Beisel of Rossville.
Services were held Tuesday at 3 p. m. from the Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, with Rev. Stanley Hopper in charge. Burial was made in the Bunnell cemetery.
