Burns received when fire destroys home and take lives of son and daughter prove fatal.

Suffering for fourteen days with burns she received in a fire which two of her children died, Mrs. Bessie Alberta Brechbiel, age 40 years, wife of S. Roy Brechbiel died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday in the Waynesboro hospital from the affects of the burns and double pneumonia which she contracted last week.

Mrs. Brechbiel's two children, Martha, 14 and Harvey, 11 died in the flames which razed the two story frame structure shortly after midnight two weeks ago today. Mrs. Brechbiel rescued her two and one half-year-old daughter, Bertha, who was discharged from the hospital yesterday just a few hours before the mother died.

The child is recovering from the burns and is now at the home of Mr. Brechbiel's mother north of town.

Mrs. Brechbiel was born in Chewsville, Md., the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Stephey) Albin. Her early life was spent in the Chewsville section and later she lived in Keyser W.Va. Six months ago the family moved to Mont Alto. Mr. Brechbiel was employed on a farm near Waynesboro.

She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Surviving are her husband S. Roy Brechbiel, and daughter, Bertha. The following sisters and brothers survive; Mrs. Charles Itnyre, Mrs. Nora Barnhart, Mrs. Claude Barnes, Mrs. Mollie Reynolds, all of Hagerstown; Mrs. Emma Hockman, Frostburg, Md. and Mrs. Sarah Lecrone, of Philadelphia; William Albin, Rohrersville, Md., and Harvey Albin, Leitersburg.

The funeral will be held Sunday morning, leaving the M. D. Jacobs home in Mont Alto at 10:30 o'clock for further services in the Otterbein United Brethren Church on Cleveland Avenue. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery beside her two children.

The body may be viewed at the Jacobs home any time.
