Bloomington - Christopher "Chris" Greer, 36, formerly of Yorktown, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 10, 2016 at his residence.

He was born February 10, 1980 in Muncie, the son of Michael Scott and Jeanne L. (Lammers) Greer. Chris graduated from Yorktown High School in 1998 and received his Associates Degree from Ivy Tech Community College. On September 22, 2012 in Spencer, he married Stefanie M. Melton.

He worked for Crane Naval Base achieving a top security clearance for six years. Chris grew up attending St. Mary Catholic Church and currently attended Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington.

Chris was first and foremost an avid Colts fan and enjoyed working out, playing video games, reading, camping and singing Karaoke.

Survivors include his wife, Stefanie M. Greer of Bloomington; two children, Isabella Marie Greer and Michael Jeffrey Greer; his "fur-babies", Lily and Toby; his mother, Jeanne L. Greer of Yorktown; one brother, Nick Greer (wife, Melissa) of Yorktown; one sister, Katie Edgell (husband, Adam) of Yorktown; his mother and father-in-law, Jeff and Julia Melton of Medaryville; grandmother, Germaine Lammers of Ottawa, OH; and grandfather-in-law, Howard Kain of Medaryville; one sister-in-law, Heather Melton of Mooresville; one brother-in-law, Jason Melton of Hebron; and nieces and nephews, Jacie, Allie, Parker, Haylee and Kayden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Scott Greer on February 26, 2012.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie with Father Kevin Hurley presiding. Burial will follow services in Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
