Janice Weight Holt, 80, of Springville, Utah died 11 May 2016 at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, Utah. She was born 2 January 1936 in Springville Utah to Leslie LaMar Weight and Esther Laney. She was the oldest of 9 children. She met her future husband in a high school speech class. She was married 8 May 1954 to Glen LaMar Holt and they were sealed to each other 4 May 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Janice worked many years as a medical office nurse in Bountiful, Utah.

Janice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings; Relief Society President, Primary President, Assistant Stake Young Women Camp Director, Music Conductor and as class teacher from time to time in all of these organizations. With her husband they were dance directors in the MIA program. After their retirements they served as a couple in the St. Louis Missouri FamilySearch program preparing documents to be micro filmed.

She enjoyed camping out, especially during the deer hunting season at the Weight family ranch. She enjoyed day trips to the ranch to see the scenery and attend family gatherings. Janice and Glen owned a travel trailer and camped many times in East Canyon and at various trailer camps along the Colorado River and Fiesta Grande in Arizona.

She loved to work on picture puzzles. She was very accomplished at knitting and crocheting and quilting and made many items for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and quilts of all sizes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Leslie Owen Weight, and son in law Christopher Dearing. She is survived by her six children and their spouses: Bruce (Mary Hansen), Karen (Robert Anderson), Janalee (Bruce Parker), Kelly (Shaula Parker), Chris (Catherine Johnson), Owen (Louise Buchanan).

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Springville 9th Ward Chapel, 878 W Center Street Springville, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville or at the Church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
