Cynthia Ann Casey 61 of Midland, died Monday morning, May 9, 2016 at her home. She was born September 6, 1954 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Bernard J. Putt and Veronica (Matijega) Putt of Midland.

Cindy attended and graduated from Midland Public Schools. She had a great passion and talent for flower arranging and crafts having worked in the field for many years. Her true joy, however, were her beloved grandchildren. She played an active role in their lives and was a volunteer at Woodcrest Elementary School.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, son Brian Casey and daughter Amy (David) Brandt all of Midland; grandchildren Mallory, Maxwell and Reid Brandt; brothers and sister: Roger Putt of North Carolina, Gregory Putt, Gary (Lynda) Putt all of Midland, and Renee (Michael) Green of Farmington Hills, and by nieces and nephews: Cameron Stewart, Benjamin (Trisha) Putt, Vanessa Putt, Emma and Sadie Green and Shana (Brian) Weemhoff. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by brothers, Bernard Putt in 1951, Randall Putt in 1993, and a sister Marcia ‘Marcy’ Putt in 2009.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Kevin Maksym as celebrant. Cindy’s family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. A vigil for the deceased will take place 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday evening. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a monetary donation to the family to purchase library books for Woodcrest Elementary in memory of Grandma Cindy.
