Weymouth J. Cleaver, 92, of Charles Town, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at the Willow Tree Manor, Charles Town.

Born July 28, 1918, in Moorefield, he was the son of the late Floyd Cleaver and Cora (Cain) Cleaver Bean.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Cleaver; stepfather, Philip E. Bean; two brothers, Floyd Cleaver and Omer Cleaver; one sister, Dorothy Mae Hunt; and one grandson, Douglas J. Cleaver. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Cleaver was retired from the CSX Railroad.

He was a U.S. veteran of WW II, a lifelong member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church, an avid model train enthusiast and enjoyed traveling and camping.

Surviving are two sons, Robert A. Cleaver and wife Shirley, Burlington and Lawrence Cleaver and wife, Nancy, Shepherdstown, with whom he resided for six years; eight grandchildren, Robert Cleaver Jr., Allen W. Cleaver, David S. Cleaver and wife Kristy, S. Christine Bauserman and husband Keith, Bryan W. Cleaver, William L. Cleaver, Barbara M. Cleaver, Kathleen R. Tesh and husband James; and 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grand-children.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Restlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jeannie Marsh and the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating. Friends will be received at the cemetery from noon to 1 p.m.
