Young Boy Is Killed By Lightning Stroke
Paul Yancey, Thirteen Year Old Son of Mrs. B. C. Yancey, Meets Instant Death
From Lightning.
Paul Yancey, young son of Mrs. B.C. Yancey, was killed by a stroke of
lightning Thursday afternoon in a field on his mother's place in East Griffin
during a rain and thunderstorm.
The lad, with his younger brother and a negro farm hand, were returning from
work in a field, and at the time of the lightning's flash Paul was standing by
a wire fence. He was killed instantly.
The funeral was held at the Yancey home Friday afternoon at two o'clock, the
obsequies being conducted by Rev. D.F. Hoke, of the Episcopal church. The
interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.
