Roy Joe Dain, 79, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
The son of Bertha Pearl (Platt) and John Henry Dane, he was born in the Northwest Flats Community of Texas Co. Joe attended Brown's Corner School and graduated from Guymon High School.
After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, Joe returned to the area and married Betty Louise Jones on Dec. 12,1954 at the Morning Star United Methodist Church in Hough.

He was a farmer,worked for Riffe-Gilmore Elevators for many years, and was an active member of the Morning Star United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, two daughters and their husbands, two sons and their wives, ten grandchildren, and two great granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Minta Beer; and three brothers, Virgil, Curtis & C. E. Dain.

Funeral services will take place Thursday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. at Morning Star United Methodist Church in Hough. Interment follows in Barden Cemetery.
