Martha A. Albrecht, 102, of Sanford, died Monday morning, Sept. 15, 2014 at her home. She was born July 24, 1912 in Lake Leelanau, Mich. She was one of ten children born to Peter and Katherine LaBonte of Lake Leelanau.
Martha married Wm. Taft (Tip)Albrecht June 12, 1937. He preceded her in death April 23, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Theodore LaBonte of Detroit, Emory and Otto LaBonte of Traverse City, Fredrick "Fritz" LaBonte of Lake Leelanau (killed in service) and Ruben LaBonte; brother-in-law, James Albrecht of Florida; sisters-in-law, Ruth Albrecht of Traverse City, Ruth Albrecht of Riverview and Evelyn Allen of Florida; sisters, Alice Thacher of Kentwood, Dorothy Kichi of Taylor; Eva Haubrick and Genevie Friske.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Sally LaBonte; nieces and nephews, David and Pat Wenzel of Traverse City, Judy Odom of Traverse City, Jack and Julie McCabe of New Jersey and Raymond and Rita Haubrick of Florida; many grandnieces and nephews and by her many dear and close friends.
Funeral serves will take place 12 noon, Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford. Private burial will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, Mich.
