After the death of her mother, she was adopted by Emma Treadway, who, in turn, moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a student of Bessemer High School and later became a waitress at Brightwood Inn where she worked for close to fifty years.
She was a loving mother who had a huge heart and a quick laugh. She was someone who accepted new friends and family members with open arms.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Sutton and a son Kenneth Ray Sutton.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by her three sons, four grandsons and ten great grandchildren.
