Mr. Owens was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City.
He was a son of Nellie Hale Owens, Johnson City and the late Lawrence Owens. He was also preceded in death by his son, Patrick Ryan Owens.
Mr. Owens was a US Army veteran and was employed as a dental laboratory technician with James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center for 37 years. He was self- employed since 2013.
He enjoyed scuba diving, reading and spending time with his family.Mr. Owens was a member of Celebration Church, Blountville, TN.
In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jan Galloway Owens, children, Brian Owens and wife, Laura of Maryland, Sanders Owens and wife, Megan of Johnson City, Spencer Galloway of Johnson City, Summer Turner and husband, Kyle of Spartanburg, SC, Isaiah Owens of Alaska and Sierra Gossett and husband Josh of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Mackenzie Walker, Annie Owens and Gavyn Owens; brothers, Mike Owens and wife, Saundra of Johnson City, Gary Owens and wife, Maria of Newport News, VA, Craig Owens and wife Rachel of Gray, TN and Mark Owens of Johnson City and four nephews and four nieces.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm. A Military Honors committal service will be held at 1:45 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Those attending are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 pm. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
