Jerry Clen Dixon, 69, passed away on May 9, 2016. He was born in Tampa, FL and later moved to Lakeland where he was a longtime resident. Jerry worked in communications with the Florida Highway Patrol for 34 years (the last 15 yrs. as a supervisor), and 12 yrs. at the Division of Driver’s License. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. He will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen and Thomas C. Dixon; brother, Thomas Joseph Dixon; grandson, Trenton Cade Dixon.
Survived by his wife of 36 yrs., Patricia; sons, Jerry Clen Dixon, Jr., Michael Sloan, Mark Sloan, and Jeremy(Heather) Dixon; grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Taylor, Kelly, Ty, David, Dalton, and Braydon.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016, from 10 – 11 am, with a funeral service at 11 am, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland, 33801.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jerry’s name to a charity of their choice.
