Jennings: Vivian was born in Lake Arthur, LA on May 30, 1942 to Joseph Duprie and Elva Lulu Duprie. She was called to her Heavenly Father on May 8, 2016 while surrounded by her family, Dwayne Myers, Gwen Myers Tupper and Belva LeBlanc. Vivian was a homemaker, who devoted her life to the care of her family. She also loved the outdoors, especially when she was working in her garden, as well as sewing. Vivian was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
Vivian is survived by her son, Dwayne Myers of Hathaway, LA; her daughter, Gwen Myers Tupper (Joe) of Elton, LA; her five grandchildren, Ashley Murray, Katie LeCompte, Cade Murray, Erin Verret, Laura Myers; her sister, Belva LeBlanc of Iowa, LA; her step-sister, Betty Gaspard of Abbeville, LA; as well as fourteen great grandchildren.
Vivian is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Elva Duprie; her beloved husband of 54 years, Calvin Myers; one brother, Joseph “Mackie” Duprie; one step-sister, Virgie Monceaux.
Funeral services for Vivian Duprie Myers, 73 of Jennings, LA will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in China Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Monday, May 9th from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM. The family request that visitation resume on Tuesday, May 10th from 8:00 AM until the time of her Service at 2:00 PM.
Carrying Vivian to her eternal resting place in China Cemetery will be Cade Murray, Tajh LeCompte, Brock Young, Chris Skrantz, Jay Jay Murray, and Brandon Legros.
