Nick was born April 16, 1951, in Fort Wayne. He was a 1969 graduate of DeKalb High School. After graduation, Nick entered the military where he was stationed in Germany serving in the United States Army.
He worked for the Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne for more than 30 years.
Nick was an active member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in rural Waterloo. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 97 of Auburn.
He enjoyed foosball, throwing darts, working on the family farm, and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his mother, Margaret "Maggie" (Wixson) Miller of Waterloo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Tony Dollier of Auburn, and Karrie and Logan Nickloy of Auburn; six grandchildren, Carson Morton, Parker Morton, Madison Dollier, Owen Dollier, Dalton Wagner and Ana Wagner; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Renee Wagner of Angola; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Rocky Delaney of Angola; two nieces, Sam Wagner and Sara Smith; and his first wife, Holly (Cole) Diederich of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Wagner; his stepfather, Anthony P. Miller; a son, Joshua Wagner; his wife, Karla (Haines) Wagner; and a brother, James R. Wagner.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1098 C.R. 39, Waterloo, with Father David Carkenord officiating.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 97 of Auburn.
Burial will take place in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission or Masses to the St. Michael's Catholic Church.
