Charles Talmadge Richardson, MD died peacefully Monday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas, as a result of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Charlie was born on November 19, 1940, in Longview, Texas. He attended Baylor University and UT Southwestern Medical School. A much admired physician, a loving husband and the very best father and grandfather are all roles Charlie filled with pride and perfection. Charlie had a long and respected career in academic medicine as well as in his private practice. Over the years he received numerous awards and was revered by his patients. When not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and quieting his mind with a nice long jog. Some of his favorite memories include summers spent as the Camp Doctor at Camp Nakanawa with his girls, Saturday lunches with his sons-in-law and family vacations spent in Vail, Colorado. Charlie will be remembered for his perseverance, generosity, and compassion. Charlie is survived by his wife, Twila, his daughters Emily Richardson Blake and her husband Jeff; and Lucy Richardson Brittian and her husband Michael. Doc's gang of little playmates are Annie and Lucy Blake and Will and Ben Brittian. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, February 5 at 1:00 pm at Church of the Incarnation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elisabeth Mitchell Charitable Trust for Camperships at Camp Nakanawa, 1084 Camp Nakanawa Road, Crossville, TN 38571(http://www.campnakanawa.com) or Church of the Incarnation Altar Guild, 3966 McKinney, Dallas, 75204.
