Robert "Bob" Luther Conner, 85, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, in Richmond. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Greenwood. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association /Houston & Southwest Texas Chapter, 713-314-1313, in honor of Bob Conner. Bob was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Lexsy, Ga., to Gertrude and Claude Conner. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1953. Bob worked 40 years in loss control for Reliance Insurance Company, retiring in 1998. Bob's passions were playing golf and spending time with his family and many friends from around the country. He had a keen sense of humor and was always the life of the party. He also served on many positions in his church. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob was preceded in death by sister, Peggy Deese; stepbrothers, Jimmy, A.L. and Ronnie Powell. Survivors: Wife of 64 years, Nita; children, Randy Conner and wife, Charlotte, Angela Carter and husband, Mickey; sister, Joy Holt; brother, Eddie Mac Powell and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Mandy Carter Will and husband, Micah, Ryan Carter and Daniel Conner.
