Born December 3, 1921 in Scotia, she was the daughter of Eli and Clara (Davis) Fancher. She moved to East Worcester in 1931 and graduated from East Worcester High School in 1939.
Iva and her husband raised their family while living in Dorloo, where she was also co- owner of the Wishing Well, a gift shop located in Dorloo. She worked for J.J. Newberry & Co. from 1941 to 1946. For twenty-two years, Iva was a school bus driver for the former Cobleskill Central School District. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting.
Iva was a member of the former Dorloo United Methodist Church, Seward Valley Grange, and Primrose Rebecca Lodge.
Iva was predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel, whom she married on April 18, 1946 and he died December 26, 1980. A brother, Harold Fancher, and a sister, Kay Lape also predeceased her.
Survivors include her two sons: Gary (Susan) Davis and Phillip (Kathy) Davis all of Dorloo; her two grandchildren: Jeremy (Jamie) Davis and Kelsey (Peter) Radliff; and two beautiful great-grandchildren: Nathaniel James and Juliette Lynn Davis.
There will be no public calling hour.
A graveside service will be held at Maple View Cemetery, Co. Rt. 38, E. Worcester.
