Ralph Edwin Motley, 82, of Coffeyville passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on August 28, 1933, in Benton County, Arkansas to Ray and Iona (Wilcox) Motley. Ralph grew up and attended school in Benton County, graduating from Benton County High School.

Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Following his military service he worked in Garden City, KS until moving to Coffeyville in the mid 1950's.

On March 29, 1957, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Virginia Jean Eubanks. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area. Ralph was employed at Farmland Refinery for 40 years retiring as shift supervisor in 1996. During his time at the refinery Ralph also farmed and raised cattle, this passion for their land and cattle continued the rest of Ralph's life. His wife Virginia Jean preceded him in death on April 1, 2016.

He was member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville. Ralph loved working on the farm and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Tom Motley and wife Eileen of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Chris Holt and husband Lee of South Coffeyville, OK, and Marge Motley of Vancouver, WA; brother, Lee Motley of Coffeyville; sister Thelma Jackson of Bentonville, AR; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Diane Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
