Rites Held Sunday for Mrs. Albaugh, 76 – Ida Mae Albaugh, eldest daughter of James and Delilah Hildreth was born December 24, 1876 and passed away at her home October 30, 1953, at the age of 76 years. Her entire life was spent in the Ankeny vicinity. At an early age she gave her heart to the Lord and united with Hickory Grove Methodist Church, later transferring her membership to the Ankeny Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her death. On January 1, 1896 she was united in marriage to John S. Albaugh and to this union 13 children were born. Her patience in rearing a large family was one of her outstanding virtues and her unselfish devotion to her husband through these many years. She was an active and willing worker in her church and community as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her husband John and eight children, four sons, Claude H., Ralston, Floyd W., Elkhart, Charles S., Ankeny, Otis E., Mason City; four daughters, Mrs. Goldie Steward, Jordan, Mrs. Leota Goins, Ankeny, Mrs. Wilma Brazelton, Ankeny, and Mars. Marie Mathis of Elkhart, twenty eight grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren. Also surviving her are three brothers, John Hildreth, Slater, Ia., Arthur Hildreth and Charles Hildreth, both of Ankeny and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Horning, Bondurant and Mrs. Pearle Wilson, Ankeny. She was preceded in death by five children: Lester R., who died in service in 1918, Dale E., Opal, Mae and an infant daughter, her father and mother and one brother, Amos Hildreth.
