Gregory G. Barnes, 46, of Franklin, GA passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hospice LaGrange.
Gregory was born August 19, 1969 in Atlanta, GA. He was formerly employed with Tredegar Film Products for many years and was a member of Baptist Tabernacle Church. Gregory was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Arlene Jones Barnes and his father, Robert Barnes.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Jo (Ken) Keener; brothers, Patrick (Beth) Safford and Steven (Susan) Safford; children, Amanda (Danny) Burroughs, Robert Poindexter, Jr., Christa Lindsey, Amber Lindsey, and Emily Davis; grandchildren, Hayden Flagg, Eric Lindsey, Kara Lindsey, Candice Davis, Trey Poindexter, Gavin Poindexter, Jaley Johnson, and Kayla Mae Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Mr. Danny Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin City Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society or the Troup County Humane Society in memory of Gregory G. Barnes.
