Bob served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Barbara Hern on Aug. 5, 1950 at the Federated Church in Chagrin Falls.
Bob was a self-employed painting contractor until his son took over the business in 1985. He was also a transport driver for Preston Superstore in Burton.
Bob enjoyed traveling, bus tours and gardening; but his greatest love was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Douglas (Sandra) of Middlefield, Robin (Mark) Johanson of Huntsburg and Pamela (Joe) Calori of Mentor-on-the-Lake; grandchildren, Mitchell and Lindsey Werner and Christina LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Brent, Madelyn and Nicholas LeBlanc and Robert Mitchell Allen Werner and sister, Betty Oliver of Beachwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara and brother, David.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the funeral home with private burial at Riverview Memorial Park in Russell Twp.
