Nina Mae Russell, age 77, of Dillsburg and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born December 8, 1938 in Jacksonville, FL she was the only child of the late Doris (Livingston) Gillette and Frank “Pete” Gillette.

Nina moved to Mechanicsburg from Florida in her early teens. She was a graduate of Mechanicsburg Area High School Class of 1958 where she was a member of the band and color guard. She was a member of the Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church and served as a volunteer with Mechanicsburg Meals on Wheels where she was the recipient of an award for her dedication of over 30 years. Nina was a talented artist often creating her artwork using oil and pen and ink mediums. She along with her husband Robert participated in the Senior Games competing in shuffle board, darts and Bocce.

Nina is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Robert L. Russell and by her two daughters Julie and Suzanne Russell both of Mechanicsburg.

In respecting Nina’s wishes there will be no services. Nina has graciously decided to partake in the Humanity Gifts Donor Program to provide education to many future health care professionals.
