Rachel “Doris” Cole, age 76 of Carrollton, passed away Monday, May 09, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 26, 1939 in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Rance E. Smith and Annie Mae Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by nine siblings; and a grandson, Christian Lee Crabtree. Survivors include her loving husband, Joseph Franklin Cole of Carrollton; children, Dawn C. Crabtree and Fiancé, Charles Burgess of Franklin, Debra Cole McEwen and her husband, Jim of Carrollton, and Jeffery Lane Cole and his wife, Shelia of Powder Springs; two sisters, ImaJean Wood and her husband, Andy of Florida, and Jeanette Jordan of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Brandon Terry Wiggins, Jason McEwen, Daniel J. Hausen, Coleton A. Crabtree, Kayde LeAnne Crabtree, and Christian Jude Bearden; one great grandchild, Jorden Samuel Wiggins; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Mason Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tim Cole, Terry Cole, Johnny Farmer, Jason McEwen, Rance Jiles, Coleton A. Crabtree, Daniel J. Hausen, and David Grimsley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
