Ms. Lou Ellen Barker, 72, of 69 Browns Church Rd., passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, May 11, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Hilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery, Newton Grove. Ms. Barker, a native of Sampson Co. was the daughter of the late William Edgar McLamb and Cleo West McLamb. Lou was a loving and caring, Mother and Grandmother. She was a 911 Police and emergency dispatcher. Lou is survived by: two sons, William Stuart Barker and wife Michele of Roseboro, and Russell Dean Mills and wife Jennel of Garner; four grandchildren: Jodi Paige Justus, Wiliam Joshua Barker, Savanna Lee Barker and Brooklyn Rose Mills, two great-grandchildren: Christopher Joe Justus, Jr., William Lee Justus, two sisters: Nancy Carolyn Eldridge and Evelyn Gray Smith and husband Elwood. The family will receive friends 1-3 PM, Wednesday, two hours prior to the service at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister Nancy Eldridge, 47 Hidden Cove Lane, Clinton, NC.
