3652 Private Albert Edward Williams, 31st Battalion, Australian Infantry, Australian Imperial Force. Son of Hector and Mary Williams of Wyearba, Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. A labourer from Corndale, New South Wales (unmarried). He enlisted on 14 Feb 1916 and embarked from Brisbane on 16 Aug 1916 on HMAT Boorara A42 aged 27. He was disembarked at Cape Town on 21 Sep 1916 due to illness on route to England. He died and was buried in Cape Town. He is commemorated on the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Australia.

The CWGC website lists this soldier as Archibald Edward Williams. Australian records show he had Army Number 2519, served with the 47th Australian Infantry Battalion and died on 3 Oct 1916 at sea on HMHS Seang Choon from cerebro spinal meningitis. He was buried at sea. He is commemorated on the Hollybrook Memorial, Southampton, England (as A E Williams).

It is likey that the CWGC website is incorrect and that this is Albert Edward Williams and not Archibald Edward Williams. Both soldiers died on the same day.
