Lee B. Stanley, 73, of Clifton passed away at home on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 803 W. 3rd, Clifton, TX on Tuesday, May 10 at 2 pm. Burial to follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 pm, prior to the service at the church.

Lee was born at Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton on September 23, 1942 to Robert A. and Anna Marie Seljos Stanley. Robert and Anna Marie had met at Clifton College. Lee was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ft. Worth. He graduated from Granbury High School in 1961, then Texas Lutheran College in 1966, where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Elaine Dietzman in the fall of 1964. They were married on February 19, 1966 at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor, Texas.

He was a dedicated science teacher in San Antonio and McGregor before moving to Clifton in 1969 to teach science and coach football, girls’ basketball and girls’ track. He and his wife Dorothy retired from Clifton ISD in 2003 and have since enjoyed spending more time with each other. He has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1969.

Lee was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was happiest while garage-saling, carefully curating his antique booth, telling stories (with a healthy dose of ribbing), daily coffee, cookouts with friends and tending his heirloom iris garden. He enjoyed playing guitar with the occasional solo, learning about WWII through reading and artifacts, hunting, fishing, playing practical jokes on friends, family and strangers alike, collecting just about anything, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Robert and Anna Marie Stanley.

Lee is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Dietzman Stanley; his sons Jason Stanley and wife Jennifer; Colin Stanley and wife Jennifer. He has one granddaughter, Carter, and one grandson, Henry; Brothers Randall Stanley and family, Warren Stanley and family, and many friends and family.

Memorials in loving memory of Lee may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
