Elizabeth Hobart (Shearer) Jones, b. 1822; m 1846 Williston Jones (memorial 89896389), a Presbyterian Clergyman and resided in East Aurora, NY with her nephew, Albert Shearer (1911); she had no children but adopted Jennie, who married Rev. Henry T. Perry in 1866. Went to Sivas, Turkey where she died in 1884; also adopted Emilie (Jones) Barker) (memorial 121451835) who became a resident physician at Wellesley College
2. Joseph Heald Shearer, b. 4/13/1824, Palmer, MA
3. Tirza Jane Shearer, b. 6/28/1828; unmarried
In 1848 he went to St. Louis, MO and in 1852 to San Francisco. Thence he went to Australia as supercargo of a vessel which was wrecked on the return voyage on Raven Island. For some time he and four other survivors lived on the island subsisting on fruit and wild hogs until rescued by a passing vessel. He subsequent engaged in business in Hong Kong and later in Shanghai, China. He returned to this country and died in California after many years of retirement in 1894.
