Mary Alice Peters died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Clearview Medical Center in Monroe, GA. She was a native of Morgan County, but lived most of her life in Monroe, GA. She was the daughter of the late Hoyt Stephens, and the late Lucille Jenkins Stephens. She was retired from the Bank of Madison in Madison, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Bobby Joe Peters, Sr. ; brothers, the late Randy Stephens, the late Bo Stephens, the late Hoyt (Shorty) Stephens, the late Chester Stephens, the late Dan (Broadeye) Stephens, the late Billy Stephens; and sister, the late Ann Stephens Morris. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jeff and Michelle Peters; daughter, Kim Yearwood and Jay Darnell; grandchildren, Hunter Yearwood, Levi Darnell, Paige Peters, Jacob Peters; sisters, Angela Chambers of Toccoa, and Helen Parton of Hiwassee. A Graveside service was held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Malcom officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
