In loving memory of, Mary C. Bramlett (Cathie), age 72, of Crystal River, Florida, went to be with The Lord on May 5th, 2016 at Tampa General Hospital. Cathie was born on March 12th, 1944 in Turkey Creek, Florida to Charles L. and Gladys (Johnson) Mabry. She moved with her family to Crystal River in 1985 from Lafayette, Georgia. She was a retired teacher, cheerleading coach and a member of the Crystal River Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, L. Earl Bramlett of Crystal River, Florida; two children, Paige Bramlett and his wife Beth, Megan Hathorn and her husband Jon; one sister, Joann Coates, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Gladys Mabry and Daughter in Law, Brandy Bramlett.
Cathie was a graduate of Turkey Creek High School, and attended University of Tampa where she met and married her husband Earl on June 28th , 1962. Cathie was blessed with multiple talents and owned and operated her own salon before attending St. Leo University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Educational Administration. During her illustrious career as an educator and coach she received multiple awards including, teacher of the year, state cheerleading coach of the year, and national cheerleading coach of the year. Her involvement in the Florida High School Athletic Association was instrumental in cheerleading being recognized as a sport in the state of Florida.
Those that were in presence knew her to be an inspirational mentor, a loyal friend, and an overall selfless person who was passionate for life and most of all a loving sister, wife, Mother and Grandmother.
You will be loved and missed in our hearts always. God be with you our sweet angel. You will always be our steel magnolia.
The family will be receiving friends Monday May 9th, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a service to follow, at the Crystal River Church of God located at 2180 NW 12th Ave., Crystal River, Florida. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery located in Rockmart, Georgia on May 14th, 2016 at 10 a.m.
Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, Florida is in charge of the arrangements.
