WAYNE L. AUNKST
AGE 74 YEARS
Wayne L. Aunkst, 74, a resident of Muncy, PA, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 in the Muncy Valley Hospital.
He was the son of the late Lloyd and Bessie (Wertz) Aunkst.
Wayne was the widower of Margaret "Peggy" L. (Derr) Aunkst who preceded him in death on May 27, 2012.
They were married on June 16, 1962 and her death broke a marital union of 49 years.
Wayne was employed by Koroseal at Muncy, PA retiring in 2003. He had also been employed by the Montgomery High School and Lending Textiles.
He was a member of the Delaware Run Wesleyan Church at Watsontown, PA.
Wayne was an avid baseball fan and was a devoted watcher of the Young and the Restless.
He is survived by four children, Tim W. and wife Deb, Lewisburg, PA; Wanda L. and husband Randall Milesburg, PA; Karen M. and husband Tony Johnson City, TN; John W. Muncy, PA; one sister, Carol and husband Paul Montgomery, PA.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Wayne was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill Aunkst, Jim Aunkst, Dean Aunkst, Len Aunkst and Tom Aunkst; three sisters, Helen Robbins, Maxine Hitesman and Shirley Walker and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, 5570 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA with Reverend Michael C. Reece, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Twin Hills Memorial Park.
