She passed away at Wellmont Hospice Home at Bristol following a long illness. She was a graduate of Grundy High School and attended Roanoke College and Bluefield Business College. She was a member of the DAR and past member of the Grundy Women's Club. She worked alongside her husband Dr. Robert F. Baxter for many years in his medical practice in Buchanan County VA. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Abingdon VA. and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grundy, VA. Her husband preceded her in death June 11, 1996 and son Robert, Jr. preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1973. Survivors include daughters Mary Patricia Lynch, Frances Lee Minton, Nancy Jo Testerman, and Elizabeth Ann Wright.
