Irene Evelyn (Janssen) Albers, 92, of Rantoul passed away on Friday evening (May 6, 2016) at the Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1923 in Nokomis, a daughter of Arndt and Marie (Eiskamp Janssen). She married Ehme Albers on March 15, 1942 in Flatville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1989.

She is survived by four children, JoAnn Ehmen, Duane (Linette) Albers, Phyllis (Dean) and Dale (Cathy) Albers; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Norma Flesner.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dirk Ehmen; one son-in-law, Ron Ehmen; a brother and two sisters.

Irene was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul, where she was involved in the Women's Circle.
