Harold R Goebel was born July 9,1929 to Kate and Charles Goebel. He grew up in Wallowa and graduated from Wallowa High School as valedictorian of the class of 1947.
He married Beverly Griffith in Asotin, Washington in 1951, and they had six children: Raymond Goebel, Debbie (Goebel) Buchanan, Ronald Goebel, Kathy (Goebel) Mahon, Ginger Goebel-Burns, and Karen Goebel.
Harold worked many jobs, including logging and long-haul trucking. He also was owner of Goebel's Service Station in Wallowa. He enjoyed travel and made many trips to Mexico.
He married Peggy Wilson from Troy on Feb. 15,1978. Together they built the laundromat and car wash in Wallowa. They spent many years as snowbirds in Arizona.
Harold is survived by his wife Peggy; six children; brother Jack and his wife Janet; sister in law Marilyn Goebel,; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leo; sister; Geraldine (Marie) and grandson Levi.
