Adcock, Clifford C. 5/28/1930 - 4/29/2016 Lakeland, Florida

Clifford Adcock, oldest son of Clifford and Minnie (Pedersen) Adcock, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the age of 85 years, just one month shy of his 86th birthday. Cliff was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan, where he married his childhood sweetheart, Darlene Marie (Scram) Adcock on May 20, 1950. The two celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. Cliff was a U.S. Marine and Korean War veteran (1952-54). Later he became a Michigan State Police Trooper, retiring as a Lieutenant. He was a member of the MSP Troopers Association and the Command Officers Association. Cliff was particularly proud of having graduated from the FBI National Academy (Class 102). After the tragic deaths of their two children, Susan Kay and Clifford Alan, Cliff retired from the State Police and went to work for General Motors in Texas. He and Darlene eventually retired in Lakeland, Florida, where they were members of the First United Methodist Church and the Highland Fairways Golf Association. In addition to playing golf, Cliff and Darlene enjoyed traveling and went on over 40 cruises around the world. Clifford lost the love of his life, his wife Darlene, in November 2015. He is survived by his brother-in-law Harold Phillips, sisters-in-law Evalena Adcock and Barbara Adcock, sister Frances Harris, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Family and friends honored and remembered Cliff and Darlene together at her service of burial on May 2, 2016, at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. His remains will be buried at a later date. Any gifts in his memory may be directed to Michigan State Police Association Hardship Fund (P.O. Box 11022, Lansing, MI 48901). Cliff was a loving and faithful husband, a devoted father, a dedicated law enforcement officer, and a loyal friend. Many will miss his sense of humor and winning smile but we rejoice knowing he is once again with his wife and children.
