Willie Barry Jacobs, Jr. "BJ", 66, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, May 14, 2016 at ELIM Christian Fellowship, 525 E. 9th Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the same location (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) Interment will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, IL.

Barry was born in Chicago, IL on October 31, 1949, the son of Willie B. Jacobs, Sr. and Katie M. (Donal) Jacobs. He was raised in Peoria and attended Manual High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1974. He met Brenda Williams of Rock Island in 1981 and they were married December 24, 1996. Barry worked for the US Government at the Rock Island Arsenal and was an avid fisherman and loved bowling. He enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elizabeth and Linder.
