Mark Darwin Shelton, Sr. passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Northside Congregational Holiness Church with burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Marker and Rev. Phillip Johnson will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Shelton was born January 11, 1946, in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was predeceased by his mother, Lois Nelson Todd, step-father, Bo Todd, father, Gordon W. Shelton, sister, Pat Marker and brother, Eugene Shelton. Mr. Shelton was retired from Georgia Power Company Plant Scherer and was a member of Northside Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Sparks Shelton of Forsyth; children, Mark Shelton, Jr. of Mitchell, Georgia, Kim Shelton Penna (Jeff) of Thomson, Georgia and Les Shelton (Erin) of Forsyth; grandchildren, Kayla Brooke Pippin, Rebecca Lynn Penna and Carter Bryce Shelton.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Northside Congregational Holiness Church, Post Office Box 8, Forsyth, Georgia 31029.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
