Shelby Marie Bentler, 15, of Bonaparte, Iowa, passed away on October 14, 2006 at her home. Born December 27, 1990 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, she was the daughter of Michael and Sandra Mendez Bentler.
Survivors include one brother Shawn Bentler of Quincy, Illinois, grandparents Darlene Bentler of Houghton, Gervase and Mollie Bentler of Bonaparte, and Eusebio (Abie) and Julia Mendez of Fort Madison, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great–grandparents Vincenté and Maria Mendez, George and Ina Angell, and Fred and Veronica Bentler.
Shelby was a sophomore at Harmony High School where she was active in Art Club, basketball, track, Society of Academic Achievement and softball. She was an avid outdoors person who loved to hunt and go boating.
