Gene Arnold Long, 82, of Mineola, TX, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 in Tyler, TX. Mr. Long was born on Monday, April 23, 1934 in Grand Saline, TX to the late Jack D. and Winnie Long. Mr. Long was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mineola. He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Long. He Is survived by two daughters, Gina Long of Sun Lakes, AZ and Cindy Boffy and husband Jim of Golden, TX; brother, Doug Long of Grand Saline, TX; brother in law, Jerrett Herron and wife Janis of Lampasas, TX; two sisters in laws, Peggy long of Quitman, TX and Claudette Carroll of Irving, TX; granddaughter, Carroll Marie Boffy of Golden, TX; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, TX. Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2016, at 6:00PM at First Baptist Church Mineola officiated by Dr. Mark Neeley. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made to the Mineola Athletic Booster Club, First Baptist Church of Mineola or Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701.
