Dean Brimhall Snow
1922 ~ 2016
Dean Brimhall Snow passed away peacefully on April 26, 2016. He is the beloved husband of Darlene, father of Joyce (Peter) Maughan, Dean Jackson (Peggy) Snow, Janet (James) Bacciocco, Denise (Harry) Segura and Shelly (Wayne) Reichmann, grandfather of 25 and great-grandfather of 54.

Born in St. George, Utah on July 11, 1922 to Harold Stafford and Lydia Ellen Hopkins Snow, he is the second of ten children and their first son.

In 1939 he enlisted in a National Guard unit in St. George at the age of 17. In 1942 he became a pilot through the Aviation Cadet Program and flew 35 combat missions over Europe during World War II as a 22 year old aircraft commander in B-24s.

Following his discharge from military service, he pursued university studies at BYU where he met Darlene Jensen by posing as her Home Teacher. They were married and sealed July 31, 1946 in the St. George Temple by his father who was the temple president.

Civilian life was cut short when his National Guard unit was activated in 1950 and during the Korean Conflict he served on the front lines with an Artillery Observation Battalion.

Returning once again to civilian life, he became an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Agency and retired after 30 years of service. In retirement, he and Darlene served a full-time Family History mission in the New York/New York Mission and they served 25 years in the Baptistry of the Jordan River Temple and the Draper Temple until his heart attack at the age of 92. He was a committed Family History Indexer and indexed over 300,000 names.

His greatest achievement in this life, however, was as the Patriarch of our large family, who revere him as our quiet, humble, honest, hardworking, loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Millcreek Hospice, especially Lisa Barr, for their kindness and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sandy Utah East Stake Center Chapel, 9636 South 1700 East in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will precede these services from 9:30 to 10:30. Also, there will be a viewing Sunday, May 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah.

Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Family and friends are invited to sign an online guestbook at www.larkincares.com.
